Mark A Campbell PhD, CWP

Dr. Mark A. Campbell is an Executive Officer on the Wellness Council of America's board of directors. He has a background in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, and Sport and Performance Psychology and a Ph.D. in Health Promotion and Wellness. He has led performance and wellness-based programs for the US Army, the Department of Defense, multiple universities, and a Major League Baseball team (including a World Series Championship). He works with organizations and performers in all fields and is a sought-after performance/wellness speaker and consultant. 

Mark has been a lifelong lover of nature, personally and professionally. He has seen a tremendous impact on his own health and wellness and on thousands of clients he has worked with. He began Nature of Wellness to encourage more individuals and organizations to embrace the healing power of the natural world. 

He loves hiking with his dog Mac and can usually be waist-deep in a trout stream.

Steve Otero

Steve Otero is a Certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator, National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) outdoor educator, and holds bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science, Experimental Psychology, and Recreation and Outdoor education from Western Colorado University. His passion is connecting others with the power of the natural world. He serves as a Veteran Services Officer in Gunnison County, CO and as part of the federal "Task Force on Outdoor Recreation for Veterans", which is investigating the use of outdoor recreation for the health and wellness of veterans.

 Steve is  pursuing his MS in Behavioral Science at WCU and was recently selected for a fellowship with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Prevention Technology Transfer Center at the University of Utah. Steve is also a US Air Force military veteran with combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan as a combat cameraman and forensic investigator.
