Episode Sixteen-Tracking Wonder with Jeffrey Davis
We'd love to hear from you about this episode.
Every guest on our show so far has mentioned the concepts of wonder and awe in some way to describe the importance of the natural world to our health and well-being.
Scientists and philosophers have focused on the power of wonder for many years, with some referring to it as “the hallmark of the human species.” A few hundred years ago, renowned French philosopher Renee Descartes asked, “Why is wonder the first of all emotions?”
The concept of wonder is easily misunderstood. It is too often thought to be an emotion we experience as children and grow out of with age.
The tremendous and impactful nature of wonder continues to positively influence how we live, be a building block of resilience and flourishing, and a foundational component of wellness.
